How are things here in asian land you say? Other than being very asiany, I feel like I’ve established my ancient asian roots during my duration of stay here
In other news I’m so over thai food lol Your basic meal would be fried rice with stir fried veggies an meat
I’ve decided I will never eat it ever again after this trip
I heard it’s going to be hard to find American food in Nong Khai but I will hunt it down with force! Heck the place I’m staying at has an international menu cuz the person that helps run the place is British
So awesome :D English ppl are funny with their englishy accents an inner jokes
Got a room all to myself squee n-n It’s reeaaallly nice
Reminds me of that bungalow I stayed at in Pai but more concrete an on the ground than standing on stilts in mid air lol
There’s a tv screen in the bus so they put in 500 days of summer which I decided after the 1st 5 seconds of seeing this movie I declared it was horrid and moved on to doing some boring studying
Next up Space Jam lol I havn’t seen this movie in sooo long

Other movies we watched were ‘I love you man’ which ppl thought [but most importantly, I didn’t] was more awesome than Sherlock Holms that we saw after that

Anyway, 1st time living on my own without parents
Have I ranted about that yet? Ohoho okies well it’s awesome living on my own but at the same time I’m as my dad called me a ‘social misfit’ cuz I apparently hardly have any experience socializing with ppl so this is rather disappointing
On the flip side I’m still having fun, just kinda wish some of my friends came with me to share this wonderful land of mosquitoes and heat lol
The next place we’re headed to is Nong Khai cuz things in Bangkok is heating up with actual deaths going on
It’s hard to believe I’m in the middle of all this turmoil cuz it’s been peaceful here so far but I’ve heard some protesting and bombing has been going off around town but I honestly haven’t seen a thing
Started my malaria pills today since Nong Khai is basically on the borderline of Laos so it’s more riskier there
Plus a lot of people want to go to Laos and the stamp will cost only what 50 bux? Oh speaking of which the most recent event I went to is zip lining which is actually more expensive than when people went bungy jumping
Too bad there wasn’t any sky diving cuz I would have totally gone to that instead of having some stupid cords disassembling my ankles while I dangle upside down like a loon
It was very exciting hopping from tree to tree in my fashionable zip lining outfit with my unbreakable helmet of safety lol
The highest one we went to was 40 meters down and it was a drop
Oh boy I’m so far behind on this blog! So much has happened this week it’s crazy
Okies so the 2nd plane ride was actually a lot better
I think the plane was older than the 1st but the seats seem more comfier plus food was better an I didn’t get sick at all! :D
We got lost tryin to find our hostel called the Urban Age lol Wasn’t surprised but I can’t believe like none of us even printed out a map or something or the directions of how to get there from the airport! I was kinda thinkin of it but thought that maybe the other ppl already did it but nope they didn’t lol Oh well we had a nice trip goin around Bankok with our heavy bags on our backs
All I can say about Bangkok is it’s super duper really hot and humid!
It’s so funny how every few mins pass by there’d be a taxi guy beeping at us stopping by the curb for us to ride them an I heard that the taxi guys are farmers just tryin to get more money drivin around Bangkok and they have no idea where to go lol or maybe they just don’t understand us cuz really none of them spoke English
Luckily 1 of them came by spoke really well English so we took that 1 an even he couldn’t try to find it lol Leave it to us to pick a spot that’s uncommon to find
Ne ways we eventually found it an stayed there a couple nights
It’s so weird how it was structured too There’s like buildings connected to it an there’s 6 floors an we were supposed to get the dorm room on the 6th floor but I think there was some misunderstanding when we booked it so we ended up taking a few rooms with twin beds but it was ok cuz the 2nd night we took the dorm room an that was fun too cuz I’ve never slept in a bunk before so I took the top bunk right next to the air con hehe so I had control of turning it right on me or turning it away but kinda felt bad for Rebecca that was sleeping across from me cuz she was like an ice cube the whole night ^^;
To use the bathroom is across the hall and to use the bath is downstairs an to go to the next room down or up we’d have to take the stairs So each floor has a room an bathroom lol
For breakfast we’d eat the street food
Not surprised it was spicy grr But luckily I was able stand it but the 2nd time I had it for some reason it felt more spicier lol so I couldn’t really stand much of it
Ever since then I’v avoided eating spicy foods lol
The beverage drinks here are all sweet! An I learned later in my thai language class that they love sweet things which is absolutely perfect for me cuz I have a huuuuge sweet tooth :D Other ppl didn’t feel the same way lol
The Red Bull here tastes really diff from the states! Like it’s not carbonated at all an they’re in this lil glass bottle instead of a tall skinny can
I’v only had a couple sips cuz I’m not a huge energy drinker
The only time I had a full energy drink was when I won that Monster drink as a consolation prize from that Kawasaki contest lol
Holy crap did we walk a ton that day lol We’ve been tryin all the diff transportation they had like the bus, subway, sky train which I lurved btw! Reminds me of Disney land lol, this thing called a tuk tuk an it’s funny cuz back in the Philippines they’re called put put
They’re like these 3 wheeler vehicles without doors an it’s pretty much open all around They’r awesome n-n
We explored the Siam Paragon mall
Oh my lord it was ginormous!!! I felt like that mall was a whole city by itself lol It’s THAT big guys Could prolly spend a month exploring all of what’s in that mall
I think there was 5 or 6 levels The 3rd level was full of fancy modern cars!! How the flip did they get all them cars there? Bankok is definitely hip with top of the line fashion Well I suppose asia does make all of our things lol 1st floor had a ginormous food court an grocery it’s weird cuz not all food places did this but we’d go to this separate desk an say wat we wanted to order an we’d give them Baht an they’d give me a ticket thing I think it’s just so they can manage money separately there
Ne ways enough of the mall We also went to a snake farm
It was awesome up to the point when 1 of the trainers got bit by the snake he was holding D: But it looked like he was all ‘Shoot! Well this is gonna suck for the rest of the day’ rather than being all panicky
I wonder if 1 of these guys gets bit every day
Towards the end was able to hold 1 of the snakes! I looked cute in that pic n-n I made it look like I was holding those feathered boas :D
Weather is sooo unbearably hot an humid!
I have like a layer of sweat every time I step outside but at least the thai people love their air conditioning
Even the tiny booth that gives out tickets to see the snake show was air conned
Been drinking a ton of water cuz with all these walking I was afraid of getting dehydrated an it’s real easy to do
Went to this fancy restaurant at the very top floor of this almost tallest skyscraper building in bankok but before we had to buy nicer clothes than wat we currently had on
Lol Patrick’s pants were soo skinny an tight on him He was all ‘Ah crap’ an to made it even better when we were on the train we saw Patrick’s pants on a girl an we were all ‘Hey it’s Patrick’s pants!’ lmao Idk how the ppl could mess up something like that
Hey you’re a guy let’s put you on some girl clothes instead! I think it’s cuz he’s really skinny so they thought women’s clothing would fit better or something lol
Ne ways even though it’s a restaurant we only wanted drinks lol I forgot why we didn’t wanna go to the bars
I think it’s cuz they weren’t open that early We went during lunch hr or sometime in the afternoon lol
Later we tried to go to the tallest building but for some reason we couldn’t reach the top
The elevators would just stop somewhere like at the 5th level and we didn’t know how else to reach the upper levels It was strangely odd
Dood there’s a ton of ATM machines! Like 1 every feet away there’d be either 1 or clusters of them lol Hm! I wonder wat this could mean!
Omg there was also lots of beggers on the streets The 1 that got to me was when we were about to leave for the train station there was this guy with its leg an arms chopped off an he was just sprawled straight in the middle of the side walk where there was heavy traffic [ppl not cars] goin by 1 of the girls later said he was overly faking it Like his arm an a few fingers were hidden
Still seeing something like that wasn’t a pretty sight
We also went to a park an chilled there, played some cards
Games we played was BS which I hated cuz I’m bad at lying an mostly crazy eights which was exactly like Uno which reminded me of playin that game with my friends aw
Could have had a chance to go for a boat ride around the lake but there wasn’t enough boats to hold all of us
Here’s how the cost system went $1 = 32 Baht or something like that so street food would cost less than a dollar, restaurant foods costs a few dollars, booze would costs like 10-20 bux for either packs or the whole bottle in bars an stuff which I guess is pretty dang cheap
How would I know wat booze would cost in the states? Lol Surprisingly enough I had most of my liquor in Thailand xD
The only things I had so far is that Dakary at that fancy skyscraper an a few whisky shots the 1st night when I got to Chiang Mai then the same thing night after when everyone in my program met
Ne ways that’s all we did in Bankok! An that was only for a couple days lol We did so many things all at once
Gr the 1st day when we did all that walking I had a huuuuuge blister like there was air between the skin so I surgically removed it to the air out Bad idea I was in pain an was limping the rest of the time an it didn’t start healing till I settled down in Chiang Mai
I was surprised by how stinky my feet got! Lol The rest of the time I wore sandals which is equally as bad cuz later 1 of my feet started to swell again
I’m so mad at my feet! Idk why they’re so weak all the time grrr
That was the only downer thing other than the heat that was makin me all sticky an sweaty all the time that was keeping me from enjoying my stay there
Didn’t even sleep the night before cuz was still doing some last min things before I leave lol Labels: Spring quarter, Thailand
Left the house at 6am Said my goodbyes to my bro in Santa Barbara
Got to the airport with parents around 9-10
Was parked in parking lot C which I must add is a ginormous parking lot! I didn’t realize how big it was till we got picked up by the shuttle bus an went around all the other stops in the lot before we went to the airport
The second I left the bus I instantaneously freaked out a min cuz I lost my phone
I thought for sure I left it in the car cuz I didn’t leave it in the bus
I wanted to go back an check but we were gonna be late to our next bus that was gonna take us to the airport
We ate our last meal together at McDonalds lol cuz no other place was open plus they looked junky anywa
Checked in my junk at 11am then just when I was about to go in for security check the lady said my parents couldn’t go any more further
Aw man Then mom started crying but I wasn’t so that kinda made me feel bad lol
We sat at the lounge for a bit an ate some brownies she made an decided to go look for my phone cuz my flight didn’t leave till way later
So we went back to the car an guess wat
No phone! Ugh we had to cancel it an unfortunately, someone had already called an texted
I have mixed feelings about it
Pros it’s an old phone so gives an awesome excuse to finally get a new one when I get back Huzzah!
I transferred most of my photos [all 600 an a bag of chips] to a usb so they were saved
I kept a file of my old contacts that 1 time I didn’t have my phone *cough*
With no added line to my parents phone bill they get to pay less
Cons Unfortunately all my notes an newer ish contacts weren’t saved
The Verizon people couldn’t tell us like how far the caller called an so gotta wait till the bill comes to see if there were any additional charges
I’d need to get a new number which is a pain cuz like changing an address I’d have to update my contact info at places like my school an bank
So was it a gewd thing I lost my phone? I would hope so :D
Gawsh that 14 hr trip to get to Taipei was murder! I was fine during the 1st half all excited an watching movies an stuff but then my butt started to fall off during the last half
I even puked at the last hr before we landed ugh! I’ve never felt so glad to see land lol Luckily this next flight into BKK will only be 3 hrs

Okies so I know this blog hasn't been updated in yrs lol I mostly made it for that small phase in my life where I wanted to win stuff from blog contests an other things Hey I didn't lose all the time!
But now I shall transform it to my wondrous adventures in Thailand :D
For those who don't know why I'm doing such a thing it's for studying abroad for school an no I'm not living there an no I don't have any relatives who lives there an no my parent's aren't accompanying me who would want to live there either Huzzah! So there Glad that got settled
At the moment I'm doing some last minute preparations cuz I'm a professional at being a procrastinator It's a curse I know
Last few days been hangin with mah buds lol Been showing them around campus an such
I shall miss you guys!!!
Most of all I shall miss playing Final Fantasy XIII <3 oh an I guess my Penguin lol jk! I lurve you! n-n
Got to talk to Ray [who's out in Iraq somewhere fighting them bloody battles for us] an Sarah through skype That was pretty spiffy
I shall be using that more when I get in Thai

My last job I had was for one day cuz my tutee dropped out of the course an it wasn't cuz of me I actually got payed well for it too! Grr

So here I am venturing to Thailand to expand my vast knowledge of my brain! I know that in my wish list Thailand isn't one of the places I wanted to travel to but oh wells! As an added bonus I'm for the 1st time fending for myself in a foreign country no less :D
No I wont be able to text nor will I have my actual phone during my duration
I know it's sad
Things to wish for I hope for my life that I wont get bitten by malleria ravaging mosquitos or get any form of disease
I hope the plane wont crash or get bomb threatened like at Paul's work
Lastly I hope that I'll remember how to play FF13 when I get back lol
Holy mother of fish sticks! I happened to 'stumble' upon a very spiffy site called '20's Money'
At first I thought they were giving away money for 20 people or something but nuuu

Actually the 20 stands for people in their 20's, go figure
Obviously people at that age [me] is on the struggle to find that perfect job/getting that school monies to keep on chuggin on along the chain of getting that degree

I know my artistic skills on an artistic scale is around the newbie area but if I work hard on it I hope I can wow the audience with my audacity an spunk
I have to think a lot about the future instead of short range cuz then I'm goin nowhere fast thinkin short range
I know a few ppl who'r short range thinkers an it makes me think how sad they'r gonna live like that for the rest of their lives while mine is movin foward
I also need to keep up my health an stamina cuz I plan on goin
